Tu BiShvat
New Year for the Trees
As we gather on the threshold of Shabbat, we also turn toward Tu BiShvat—the new year of the trees. Tu BiShvat reminds us that growth often begins quietly, beneath the surface. Even when nothing seems to be happening, roots are forming, nourishment is being taken in, and potential is slowly preparing to emerge.
Shabbat, too, invites us to pause. To stop striving, stop rushing, and simply be present. Together, Tu BiShvat and Shabbat encourage us to notice what sustains us—what nourishes our bodies, our relationships, and our spirits.
The meal reflects this sense of abundance, featuring fruits of the land, sweetness, and care in every detail. It offers a moment to feel gratitude—for growth that is already visible, and for growth that is still unfolding, even if it cannot yet be named.
This Tu BiShvat–inspired Erev Shabbat gathering is an opportunity to feel grounded, connected, and nourished—rooted in what matters most, and open to becoming our fullest selves.
We look forward to gathering together to share the fruits of the land and the gift of Shabbat.
